Water and Mineral
Recovery Design:

In an optional advanced design the distilled water can be pumped to the surface and sea water added to replace it as shown in Figure 3. In Figure 3 sea water is added to the heat pipes in controlled amounts to be vaporized in the steam tank. If salt and minerals are not to be gathered the sea water input will be contolled so that the eutectic point of the solution in the steam tank is not reached. If the intent is to produce distilled water and minerals the water in the steam tank will be allowed to reach the eutectic point and the minerals will precipitate from the solution and be expelled via a screw conveyor to a storage tank.
